Meika Osborne
a.k.a. the Reckless ResearcherAn archaeologist who can be too rash for her own good, always accompanied by a raven or two. No, she knows nothing about the recent fire in that street - she was on an expedition then - why do you ask?
[Find her in Fallen London.] PERSONALITYCurious and excitable. Intelligent, but has the tendency to be rash and prone to make questionable decisions when new knowledge is involved. Sometimes also suggests and does risky things for seemingly no reason other than adrenaline. She does draw a (admittedly blurry) line when it comes to illegal works, however. And never say her feathered darlings bring ill omen within her earshot.

STORY
A sheltered upbringing never stopped Meika from dreaming of adventures and discovery. Books were her world and stories were her breath. One day, she met an Englishman visiting her port town. Despite of language barrier, the two fell in love, and ignoring her brother's protest (who by then was her only living family left), she left her country to be with her beloved and to seek new opportunities.
Seek, and you will find. It took time to adapt to her new life, but she learned and learned. She studied the antiquity she once only heard of in passing, wrote about the ancient sights from her travels, and with support from her husband, eventually became an academic in her own rights. Her dream was reached, yet she never stopped yearning for more questions and answers.
It was then she learned about the fallen city of London from a colleague. The stories of distinct ancient cities buried in a single place intrigued her so - how did it come to be? And this rumour about the language of Xanadu....
Without hesitation, and without heeding the warnings from her husband, she took the job to investigate the place, packed her suitcase and departed for the Neath.
